Queens Park FAMILY
FUN DAY 2011

This year’s Family Fun Day took place in
Billericay on the 23rd July 2011, 1 – 5 pm at
Hannakins Farm Community Centre, Rosebay Ave, Billericay,
CM14 4ER.
The event was organised by Basildon, Billericay and Wickford
Council for Voluntary Service and supported by Hannakins Farm
Community Centre and residents.
Residents from Queens Park community enjoyed a variety of
activities such as performances by Lady GAGA tribute act, Belly
Dancing by Tribal Unity, a climbing wall, face painting, balloon
arts and many stall games. Selections of Polish cakes and
Afro-Caribbean foods were also provided.
The mini zoo, set up on the side of the centre where residents
had an opportunity to see animals, was a big success.
Local groups and organisations provided information and advice
on the services they provide through running stalls and
activities. The drug and alcohol stall was particularly popular
with displays of the drugs and the illustrations of damage it
can cause to users.
Artak Poghosyan, Community Development Manager from the CVS
said, “This was the fifth year we organised the Fun Day at
Hannakins Farm Community Centre. All residents and groups who
took part enjoyed the event and thought it was the best and most
popular since 2006. Artak said “We hope residents and Hannakins
Farm Community Centre with the support of the local groups will
take charge of next year’s organisation of the Fun Day and be
able to access vital funding to enable residents of Queens Park
to enjoy free family fun days and access to local services,
advice and information”
Thank you to all residents and organisations
who took part in this year's Family Fun Day!
