Basildon, Billericay & Wickford CVS has been announced as a partner for Talent Match, a Big Lottery Funded initiative that will help local 18 to 24 year-olds who have been out of work for more than 12 months.
Together with lead Talent Match partner for the South East, The Prince’s Trust, a panel of local young people and a number of local partners from across the voluntary and private sectors we’ve been awarded £6.8 million to deliver local solutions for long-term unemployed young people living locally. About Talent Match – the national picture
Talent Match is a £108million investment aimed at tackling youth unemployment in 21 areas of England hardest hit by the economic downturn. It will support young people who are furthest away from being work-ready to secure employment or take up enterprising opportunities. Talent Match is a five-year investment for young people aged 18-24 who have not been in employment, education or training (NEET) for 12 months or more, and need particular support to help them into work. The investment was co-designed with young people and will continue to have young people at the heart of decision making throughout the programme.
