  • Employer Engagement
  • The Young People’s Partnership

Applications are open until 31st December. Please see here for further details.

Basildon, Billericay & Wickford CVS has been announced as a partner for Talent Match, a Big Lottery Funded initiative that will help local 18 to 24 year-olds who have been out of work for more than 12 months.

Together with lead Talent Match partner for the South East, The Prince’s Trust, a panel of local young people and a number of local partners from across the voluntary and private sectors we’ve been awarded £6.8 million to deliver local solutions for long-term unemployed young people living locally. Our partnership aims to engage, inspire and support those who are furthest from the labour market and we are focusing on local areas with high unemployment – Medway and Kent Coastal, Hastings, East Sussex Coastal, Southend, Thurrock, Harlow, Basildon and Tendring.

Together our partnership will devise the best ways to support local young people to boost their confidence and skills, and support them back into the workplace. Those involved include Amicus Horizon, Business in The Community, CXK, Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO), Jobcentre Plus, Southend-on-Sea YMCA (SYMCA), Tomorrow’s People and Universities Partnership Programme. Councils supporting the initiative include East Sussex County Council, Essex County Council, Hastings Borough Council, Kent County Council Medway Council, Southend Borough Council and Thurrock Council.

About Talent Match – the national picture
Talent Match is a £108million investment aimed at tackling youth unemployment in 21 areas of England hardest hit by the economic downturn. It will support young people who are furthest away from being work-ready to secure employment or take up enterprising opportunities. Talent Match is a five-year investment for young people aged 18-24 who have not been in employment, education or training (NEET) for 12 months or more, and need particular support to help them into work. The investment was co-designed with young people and will continue to have young people at the heart of decision making throughout the programme.
