Are
you interested in volunteering?
The
primary function of
Basildon
, Billericay and Wickford Volunteer Centre is to provide a
Brokerage Service matching the interests and skills of people in
the local area with local volunteer involving
organisations who have registered with us. The
service is
free and covers the
Basildon
, Billericay and Wickford area.
If you would like to visit the Centre you will meet with the
Volunteer Centre Manager for an informal interview that usually
lasts
half an hour. The informal interview is a confidential one
to one interview. The Volunteer Centre is an open planned office
and therefore if you would like to have an informal interview in
a private area please ask the Volunteer Centre Manager who
will arrange this.
If
you are unable to visit us at the Volunteer Centre we are able
to provide our
Brokerage Service via letter, telephone or email.

do volunteers do?
There
are many areas and activities volunteers can get involved with
such as:
Gardening/conservation
Driving
Befriending
Fundraising
Education
Elderly
Families Children
Disability
Retail
Administration
Campaigning
And many
more!
The Volunteer Centre holds details of over 200 different
volunteering opportunities so there is likely to be something
for you!

Volunteering
for All
The
Volunteer Centre offers opportunities for everyone who
volunteers to expand their skills, widen their
experience, increase their confidence, help the public, make new
friends and simply have fun.
By raising the profile of volunteering, the Volunteer Centre
seeks to break down any barriers which exist to certain sections
of the local population and hence to provide an ethos of
Volunteering for All.
