INTERNATIONAL DAY, 30 May

International Day 2009
took place in 30th May at the Frypa Hall. The day was a huge
success for both residents and organisers, with over 500
residents coming along and enjoying a full day of
entertainment, food and activities, all for free.
During the day
international performances took place such as Frititi
African Dance group, belly dancing from Tribe of Kismet,
line dancing, Asian singing. Various traditional foods were
also provided for free, organised and paid by the Basildon
District Council's Equality and Diversity team. Music from
around the world was provided by Gateway FM's road show DJs.
Football tournament took place with live commentaries
organised by People's Speak. For the young visitors various
stalls provided games and fun activities, bouncy castle,
balloon artist, face painting and much more.
