24/04/2017 Health Intervention Training

BBWCVS in collaboration with Provide is holding a training event on Health Intervention on Monday 24th April, 10:00am to 12.30pm, at the George Hurd Centre.

Provide is a Community Interest Company delivering a broad range of health and social care services in the community such as smoking cessation, healthy eating, increasing physical activity, management of long term conditions, increasing confidence, self-esteem & resilience and working well.

The training will focus on the:

  • Health & Wellbeing Services available in Essex
  • Effects poor lifestyle choices have on health
  • Delivery of brief intervention to patients, carers and staff on health & wellbeing issues  
  • Knowledge of referral pathways  

Provide work with a variety of community settings, such as three community hospitals, community clinics, schools, nursing homes and primary care settings, as well as within peoples’ homes to provide over 50 services to children, families and adults.

There will be an opportunity for 1:1 discussions with John Gear (Health Improvement Specialist). Please email catherine@bbwcvs.org.uk to book a slot.

 (Please note – there is only disability parking at the George Hurd Centre. The nearest parking is at Great Oaks, Basildon, Essex, SS14 1AH; and Toys R Us Southernhay, SS14 1AZ)
